Cary Adler – Principal
For the past 30 years, Cary Adler has been helping business owners identify risk and providing insurance & risk management solutions to bring peace of mind.
Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, Cary graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Business Administration. Cary is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). His expertise involves property and casualty insurance programs for small (<50 employees) to middle-market accounts (50-1,000 employees).
Cary is known for his positive nature, personable style and ease of doing business. Cary delivers coverage solutions that are appropriate, protective, and tailored uniquely to the exposures his client’s face.
In his spare time, Cary and his family enjoy the open space on the Central Coast and you may see him exploring the local trails with his dog, Scooter
Dave Belmont – Principal
A resident of SLO County for 21 years, Dave Belmont has effectively provided commercial brokerage solutions for over 20 years. Specializing in construction, propane, agriculture and hospitality, Belmont has earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation as well as an Agriculture Farm Insurance Specialist designation. His mastery of personnel administration proves him a dynamic and invaluable principal of the ABG team and his trustworthy approach to business keeps him busy with satisfied clients. Active in the community, Belmont serves on the board of The California Mid-State Fair Heritage Foundation. Beyond professional and community service, Belmont enjoys golfing, a good glass of wine and spending time with his family.
Kevin Dye – Producer
Kevin has been a member of the Central Coast insurance industry since 1989. He has a very diverse field of insurance expertise in construction, technology, residential and commercial property portfolios, real estate development activities, and various sectors of the hospitality industry.
Kevin has been a Board member at Woods Humane Society for the past seven years and sat on the capital campaign committee which raised the funds to build the present facility. A resident of the county since 1979, Kevin graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in marketing and eventually found a way to live and have a career right here on the Central Coast. Kevin enjoys spending time with his long-time girlfriend and volunteering at Woods Humane Society.
Heather Bordan – Producer
Heather was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County and began working in the insurance industry in 1997. She is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) as well as an Agriculture Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS). Heather was previously a board member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and Atascadero Youth Football. Both herself, her husband and their two sons have all graduated from Atascadero High School, so she is an avid supporter of the Atascadero Greyhounds. Depending on the season, she can be seen Friday nights cheering on the Football team, catching a basketball game in the gym, chanting for the baseball team, or watching the track and field team. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling in their motorhome with their two small dogs, Loki and Scrappy, and cruising her ’68 Chevelle with local car enthusiasts.
Kylee St John – Account Manager
Kylee was born in Fresno and raised in San Luis Obispo County and graduated from University of La Verne with a degree in Business Administration. Kylee joined the ABG team in 2017 where she works as an account manager with a focus on commercial lines. In her free time, Kylee likes to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Tanya Sage – Account Manager
Tanya was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County and has almost 10 years of combined experience in the Insurance Industry. Tanya joined the ABG Team in 2015 where she specializes in personal lines. She enjoys exploring the Western U.S. while camping with her family, and spending free time with friends on the Central Coast.
Leah Smith – Account Manager
Leah was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County. She graduated from Cuesta College in 2021 and has been employed with ABG since then. Her position was initially Office Coordinator, but she has recently taken on the role of Account Manager with a focus on commercial lines. Leah is also on the board of a local rock climbing organization. In her free time, she can often be found at the climbing gym or trying out different trivia nights in the area with her friends and family.
Laura Uribe – Support Specialist
Laura was originally raised in the San Joaquin Valley and moved to San Luis Obispo where she joined the ABG team in July of 2014. Laura has almost 25 years of experience in the Insurance Industry specializing in Commercial Lines. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with friends and family.
Mackenzie (Wilson) Patenaude – Administrative Assistant
Mackenzie was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County and continues her adult life living in beautiful Avila Beach with her husband and rottweiler, Bruno. When she is not in the ABG office, Mackenzie is an avid runner and is focused on bringing the community together by curating local makers markets with Makeshift Muse around SLO County.
